Chess – The original mind game that needs more analytical power than intelligence to win! It requires players to have a combination of good strategies, patience and skill to defend and to beat their opponent.
Chess is a game which is recreational and competitive in nature and it can have a maximum of two players. The game is played on a square board which is composed of an eight-by-eight matrix with alternating coloured squares. Each player controls one of two different coloured pieces. There are sixteen pieces in the chess board for each side i.e. one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops and eight pawns.
The object of this game is to checkmate the opponent’s king. Checkmate is a situation in which the king is under immediate attack and there is no way for a next move.
